how to create a luscious bridal bouquet

hello. sorry for the lack of updates. it was really nice to have met a few of you who actually read this little blog at urbanscapes last week. i feel a little shy now that you've read my rants & raves leading up to the engagement but heck, that's how it is! ;)

so this is a little something i'd like to share with some of you who i know are getting married real soon (in october right?)... i found an awesome tutorial on how to make your own gorgeous bouquet for the big day! it's really not all that hard, i promise & i think you should definitely diy or at least get a friend or family member to help you. you can read it in its entirety here but in the meantime, have a look at these luscious flowers....

baby's breath

i've been known to use the under-appreciated, humble baby's breath at events i decorate. even though many people view baby's breath as a cliche i just love how innocent they look. however, when used in abundance, they can be really pretty. for example...

coral

i think this is possibly the loveliest & rather unexpected color combo for a bright, cheery wedding. dare i pull it off for our wedding? hmmmmm i dunno... it might shock some people in my family gauging the way quite a few questioned my choices during the bertunang.

anyways, here's another wedding with coral tones that i'm crushing on.

more photos

as it was my birthday, my family surprised me with a scrumptious chocolate cake from lavender, pavillion.

bobby helping me cut the cake. hehehe so cheesy!

us being silly. as usual.

this is one of my favorite shots of me with my grandmother & mother

with my lovely cousins

with my parents

this is some of bobby's hantaran to me. left to right (click on the picture for a larger view): 1. sirih junjung, 2. fruits, 3. chocolates from shangri-la's lemon garden & 4. cake from shangri-la. not pictured is the ring, telekung & bunga rampai.

my ring which was part of the hantaran. i let bobby pick it out & didn't see it until about 2 weeks to the engagement for sizing purposes. he completely floored me by picking this stunner from the carat club. it's a half-eternity band with 10 love diamonds & engraved with our names within the band. i love it!

the ceremony

the following are some of my favourite pictures from the arrival of bobby's family & friends (or the entourage as we've nicknamed them), to the actual ceremony of setting the terms of the engagement & the wearing of the engagement ring.

waiting...

bobby's dad with my dad

bobby with my maternal grandmother.
according to tradition, bobby wasn't even supposed to be in the house
during the discussions but we're not exactly a traditional couple, are we?

the ladies (the lady in purple is bobby's mom & she's wearing a baju
kurung made with the sari fabric i bought for her in india. i love how
it turned out)

bobby looks like he's listening intently doesn't he? hehehe

i think this picture was taken during the exchange of pantuns which
was quite hilarious because no one was really prepared for it!

i was finally given the ok sign to come down

bobby's mom putting on the ring on my finger

more pictures here lovelies!
